Your voice, your vote
You must be 18 year or older, a Canadian citizen, and have proof of identity and address to be able to vote. For details on advance voting, mail-in ballots, Canadians abroad, voting without a permanent address, student voting, or at senior residences, access ways to vote.

On election day, polls are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at your assigned voting based on your home address.
When you arrive, check in with a poll official and show valid ID to receive your ballot. Then, go behind the voting screen and mark an “X” for one candidate. Once you’ve made your choice, return the ballot to the poll official, who will place it in the ballot box or tabulator.
Important dates
- April 13 to 16: Vote on campus from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Check the list of participating campuses to find the one nearest you.
- April 22: Deadline to apply to vote by mail using the special ballot process.
- April 22: Deadline for early voting at Election Canada offices across the country. Find the Election Canada office nearest you.
- April 28: Election day
