Enterprise Asset Management
The Region of Peel's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) program is a key component of its long-term planning, ensuring responsible stewardship of critical infrastructure assets. Established in 2007, the program develops sustainable plans to maintain assets over planning horizons of up to 100 years, supporting Council’s service level targets and financial strategies. Covering a wide range of assets—including water and wastewater systems, transportation infrastructure, waste management facilities, long-term care centers, paramedic stations, and affordable housing—the program ensures these essential services remain high-quality and affordable.
To enhance effectiveness, the Region aligns its EAM program with international standards like ISO 55000, aiming to advance from an "Establishing" to a "Competent" maturity rating. The program follows a risk-based approach integrated with the Strategic Plan and Long-Term Financial Planning Strategy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, continuous improvement, and resilience. By taking a proactive and structured approach, the Region ensures its infrastructure assets continue to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Peel Region’s risk-based approach to asset management supports its long-term goal of Community for Life.
