Protecting the most vulnerable seniors and ensuring a quality of life for LTC residents is a top priority.

Peel Region manages 5 Long Term Care (LTC) centres.
Together they have one shared goal and commitment: to provide compassionate, loving and respectful care to individuals and their caregivers in their time of need.
Actions we’re taking
Peel’s aging population is growing fast.
As seniors live longer, their needs and expectations for health and community services grow in complexity. Peel Region continues delivering person-centred care and services to the growing seniors population.
We’re recommending that some of the critical issues impacting seniors and long-term care are prioritized by our federal and provincial partners.
Peel Region is advocating to the provincial government for the following:
- Ensure sustainable funding for LTC by addressing inflation-related provincial shortfalls.
- Provincial funding toward the expansion of Peel’s Adult Day Services program, as well as an 8-bed respite care centre.
- Support for emotion-based care, which is person-centred and emotion-focused for seniors living with dementia.
- Continued support for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) in Peel to address growing waitlists for seniors. This could be achieved through innovative approaches to access federal funding.
