TransHelp’s Specialized Transit Master Plan update
TransHelp is updating its Specialized Transit Master Plan to guide the future of accessible specialized transit services in Peel.
Reasons for the update
Demand for specialized transit in Peel is increasing.
Changes in population, accessibility needs, technology, and passenger expectations means TransHelp needs to regularly review how services are planned and delivered.
The updated Specialized Transit Master Plan (STMP) will:
- Respond to growing demand and changing travel needs.
- Improve reliability, flexibility, and passenger experience.
- Strengthen how we coordinate with our conventional transit and community partners.
Key aspects of the plan
As part of the plan update, TransHelp will be:
- Evaluating funding and costs to ensure TransHelp can adapt to growth over the next 5 to 10 years.
- Assessing customer experience related to booking, trip management, communications, and service quality.
- Improving operations and technology to ensure TransHelp is keeping pace with industry standards and modern transit services.
- Explore opportunities to partner with local services, including Brampton Transit, GO Transit and MiWay.
