Waste collection for an event
Peel Region provides recycling and organics collection for businesses, local municipalities, or charities planning large community events.
The event organizer must arrange for garbage collection.

Eligibility
This service is for recycling and organics only.
You can apply if you represent a:
- Business.
- Local municipality.
- Charity planning a large event.
Contact Peel Region a minimum of 4 weeks in advance of the event for review and approval.
To be eligible, an event:
- Should have an expected attendance of 200 people or more.
- Must be a one-time event.
- Must be scheduled to be held at a public location such as a park, community centre, Business Improvement Area (BIA), or conservation area within Peel.
- Must be open to the public.
What you need
To request waste collection, you’ll need to complete a special events organizer checklist that provides the:
- Event name and date.
- Organizer's name and contact information.
- On-site contact information, if different from the organizer.
- Event address and the map outlining the waste container drop-off location.
- Services required.
- Number of bins required.

There is no cost for this service.

- Peel Region only provides recycling or organics collection (or both).
- The event organizer is responsible for coordinating garbage collection.
- The event organizer must monitor the recycling or organic containers (or both) for contamination.
- Peel Region can provide sorting posters and training to volunteers.
Containers will be dropped off on a weekday. If an event is on the weekend, containers are typically dropped off on Friday and picked up on Monday.
