Road construction on Bovaird Drive West

Creditview Road to Worthington Avenue. Project #12-4040

What are we doing?

  • The Region of Peel is widening and improving Bovaird Drive West. View area map (PDF).
  • The work includes:
    • removal and replacement of the westbound bridge over the CN Rail corridor;
    • reconstruction and widening of the roadway and CN Rail bridge from five to six lanes;
    • new multi-use pathways along both sides of Bovaird Drive West for the full length of the project;
    • enhanced streetlighting, landscaping and boulevard improvements; and,
    • traffic intersection and signal improvements.

When?

  • We expect to start work in Fall 2020 and finish in Fall 2022.

Traffic Impacts

  • Two lanes of traffic in either direction will be maintained for most works, with short duration single lane reductions only occurring during off-peak traffic hours for select activities.
  • Access for emergency vehicles and businesses will be maintained at all times.
  • Please use caution when travelling through the work zone and obey all traffic signs, flag persons, and Paid Duty Police Offices when present.

Working Hours

  • Typical hours of work are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Some weekend and overnight work is required at the railway bridge to mitigate impact to critical CN Rail and Metrolinx service.
  • Extended working hours may cause some inconvenience however they will help facilitate completion of the project as quickly and safely as possible.

Public Transit

  • Brampton Transit stops may be temporarily relocated when work occurs nearby.
  • Please follow posted signs to the nearest alternative or relocated stop location.

Vibrations

  • You may feel slight vibrations from the construction work.
