BRAMPTON, ON (Jun. 26, 2026) – Peel Region is recognizing the significant accomplishments achieved through its 2024–2027 Strategic Agenda, demonstrating measurable progress across the housing and social impact, sustainability, service excellence, our people, and future ready pillars.

Building on Peel's long-term vision of Community for Life, the Strategic Agenda was approved by Regional Council in 2024 to focus the organization on addressing urgent community priorities while advancing the goals of Peel's 20-Year Strategic Plan.

Key achievements include:

  • Supporting more than 43,000 households through Peel’s housing system.
  • Opening Canada’s largest reception centre for asylum claimant.
  • Achieving $8.1 million in cost savings and $3.4 million in cost avoidance in 2025 through Peel’s long standing Continuous Improvement Program—contributing to $100.3 million in cumulative cost containment, including $28.6 million in cost savings, between 2021 and 2025.
  • Designing more than 1,000 new affordable housing and shelter spaces to meet diverse community needs.
  • Accelerating over 30 water and wastewater projects through Peel’s Flow programs to support housing growth and help meet provincial targets.
  • Developing a Coordinated Encampment Response Plan in partnership with the City of Brampton, City of Mississauga, Town of Caledon, Peel Regional Police, and other key partners.
  • Continuing to enhance customer service through Peel Region’s award winning ServiceOntario Integrated Service Centre partnership with the Provincial government, providing over 10,000 convenient transactions since its launch and enabling residents to access essential services in a single visit.
  • Administering over 81,000 immunizations and distributing more than 1.1 million vaccine doses to Peel health care partners in 2025.
  • Opening the Seniors Health and Wellness Village at Peel Manor.
  • Accelerating major infrastructure projects to support future housing growth and economic development.

Peel has also strengthened health and social services through expanded community paramedicine programs, enhanced public health initiatives, new addiction and recovery supports, and increased access to affordable transit, child care, and seniors' services.

Peel continues to demonstrate leadership in sustainability through net-zero building initiatives, climate adaptation investments, innovative waste diversion programs, and environmentally sustainable infrastructure projects.

At the same time, Peel has modernized service delivery through digital transformation initiatives, artificial intelligence tools, customer experience improvements, and enhanced transparency and accountability measures.

Peel has advanced the implementation of its Inclusive Organizational Development Framework, strengthening diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility training and building stronger inclusion competencies across the organization. In addition, Peel has reinforced its commitment to employee well being through the Psychological and Physical Health and Safety Framework—an essential component of Peel’s People Strategy—supporting a healthy, safe, and inclusive workplace.
