Peel Region Strategic Plan driving results and community impact

BRAMPTON, ON (July 11, 2025) - Yesterday, Peel Regional Council received a comprehensive report showcasing major accomplishments under Peel’s Strategic Agenda (2024–2027) and 20-Year Strategic Plan (2015–2035). This update demonstrates Peel’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality public services, enabling growth, and building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready community.

With the opening of transformative facilities like the Peel Reception Centre and Seniors Health and Wellness Village, overseeing $17 billion in forecasted capital investments to accelerate housing enabling infrastructure, the launch of Peel’s five-year Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy, and continued progress in addressing climate change as outlined in the Climate Change Master Plan, Peel Region has positioned itself as a leader in sustainable service delivery and social impact while maintaining water and wastewater rates 34% below the GTA average.

Since 2017, Peel has implemented over 260 improvements and innovations, resulting in $64.8 million in cumulative cost containment. In 2024 alone, 33 initiatives led to $9.8 million in cost containment and improved service experiences for residents, as reflected in an 82% customer satisfaction rating.

Peel Region has also received global and national recognition for its work, including being named to the Forbes List of Canada’s Best Employers, receiving Excellence Canada’s Platinum Award for Excellence, Innovation and Wellness, and maintaining a Triple A credit rating for 29 consecutive years.
