BRAMPTON, ON (May 20, 2025) - Peel Region marks National Public Works Week by celebrating the often-unseen efforts of the professionals who deliver the essential services residents rely on every day.

This year’s theme, People, Purpose, Presence, highlights the vital role Public Works staff play in supporting safe, healthy and connected communities. This year’s celebration runs from May 18 to 24.

From clean drinking water and wastewater treatment to reliable waste collection, well-maintained roads, and accessible transit, Peel’s Public Works team is proud to deliver high-quality services that support and advance a growing Community for Life for all.

Over the past year, Peel’s Public Works team:

  • Delivered an average of 566 million litres of safe drinking water per day.
  • Treated an average of 684 million litres of wastewater per day.
  • Operated and maintained 4,700 kilometres of watermains.

  • Provided 700,000 transit trips to 8,000 residents living with disabilities.
