Peel Region appoints John Zingaro as Director of Legal Services and Deputy Regional Solicitor

BRAMPTON, ON (September 9, 2023) – Peel Region announces John Zingaro as Director of Legal Services & Deputy Regional Solicitor in a permanent capacity. In this role, John will provide leadership and direction to the Legal Services team to ensure the delivery of high-quality strategic and legal advice to Peel.

John has over 20 years of experience in municipal legal services. He began his career at Peel in 2020, having previously served in progressively responsible legal positions with the Cities of Vaughan, Mississauga and Brampton, including the position of Deputy City Solicitor with the City of Brampton.

In 2020, John joined Peel Region as Senior Legal Counsel & Manager and has served as acting Director of Legal Services & Deputy Regional Solicitor since July 2023, where he has provided Peel with invaluable legal and strategic support.

John is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and holds a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business.
