Peel Region announces Directors for Communications and Procurement
Brampton, ON. (June 23, 2023) - Peel Region announces Bethany Lee as Director of Communications and Kristin Misurka as Director of Procurement. Both Bethany and Kristin will lead their teams to continue delivering cost-effective and responsive business services to support the organization.
As Director of Communications, Bethany is responsible for the effective delivery of Peel's Communications and Marketing services, Service Experience, Customer Contact Centre, and Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives.
Bethany has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications planning and people management roles, including oversight of high-performance teams, issues management, brand positioning, and advocacy campaigns. She has expertise in service delivery across integrated channels, focused on audience needs.
She began her career with Peel in 2016 and has progressed through several roles including Communications Advisor and Communications Manager. Prior to joining Peel, Bethany worked at the Town of Caledon as a Communications Manager; at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority in media and communications for Toronto Pearson; and at Credit Valley Conservation Authority in Community Relations.
Bethany holds a Masters Certificate in Municipal Leadership from Schulich School of Business at York University; a Bachelor of Arts, Sociology, from the University of Guelph. She also completed the post-graduate Journalism program at Humber College.
As Director of Procurement, Kristin is responsible for the overall management and direction of Peel Region's procurement operations and overseeing the acquisition of goods and services for Peel Region, Peel Regional Police and Peel Housing Corporation.
A strategic procurement leader, Kristin has been with Peel Region for over 23 years. She has extensive expertise and experience in developing financial strategies and solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement services.
Kristin is a Certified Procurement Professional. She holds a Bachelor of Business Economics from Brock University as well as several advanced certifications including Advanced Procurement Law and Practice from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.
