Peel introduces the Flow | Central Brampton program

Body

BRAMPTON, ON (May 29, 2025) - Peel is growing, and we want to ensure our community remains a great place to live, work and play. Peel’s Flow | Central Brampton program will provide essential water and wastewater infrastructure for our communities now and in the future.

Through the “More Homes Built Faster Act” (Bill 23), the province has committed to building 1.5 million more homes in Ontario over the next 10 years, with 113,000 in Brampton. To meet this goal, Peel must expand our water, wastewater and road infrastructure services faster than ever before—almost five times faster than Peel’s historical growth rate.

In response, Peel Council has approved over $1 billion in capital investments to support these services. Flow | Central Brampton will meet these demands by combining more than 30 water and wastewater projects into one large-scale construction program across Brampton. This approach allows for efficient project management, resourcing, and decision-making to help speed up the completion of work and support sustainable community growth.

On Wednesday, May 28, Peel hosted the Flow | Central Brampton Program Preview at Brampton City Hall to officially kick off the program. Peel and Brampton councillors, staff, and community members attended to learn more about the program, its benefits, and the ongoing and planned projects under its care.

To learn more about the program and its projects, visit the new Flow | Central Brampton website. You can also sign up to receive Flow project construction notices.

Regional Council has approved a bold action plan to deliver, in an innovative fashion, key infrastructure to build homes faster. This initiative is a key element of that plan, and I am proud of the staff team who have designed and are now implementing it.

Nando Iannicca, Peel Region Chair and CEO of Peel Region.

We are excited to begin this innovative way of working, to fast-track the construction work needed to support our provincial and municipal partners’ housing goals while shaping the future of Peel. As well, this initiative will soon expand to include Flow | South Caledon as we work to adopt this approach in preparing Caledon for future growth and development.

Kealy Dedman, Commissioner, Public Works.
