Peel Region has shut off your water service for emergency repairs on the water system in your neighbourhood. We regret the inconvenience and are working hard to restore normal service as soon as possible.
Please note that when the work is completed your tap water may be slightly discoloured.
This is not harmful and can be corrected by running your taps (cold water only) until the water is clear again.

Emergency water Interruptions frequently asked questions
- When will water service be restored? Every water service repair varies depending on the type of break, the water pipe material and how easy it is to access the pipe in the ground. Work crews do their best to repair the pipe safely and as quickly as possible.
- What is the nature of the emergency? There is a break to a pipe that brings water to homes or businesses in the area. Work crews turn off the water so they can work safely to repair it.
- Why wasn’t I notified? Work crews make every effort to notify residents and businesses in the area affected by the emergency water interruption by going door to door. If there isn’t someone at the home or business, we leave a paper notice. If the break is causing excessive property damage or creating a safety risk, the water may need to be shut off without a notification.
- How widespread is the issue? It depends on the type and size of water pipe that is broken. Sometimes water interruptions only affect one street or a small neighbourhood. If the pipe is larger the water interruption may affect a larger area.
