Peel Region was the first in Ontario to implement an emotion-based care approach in its Long Term Care Centres. This approach creates a home-like environment with dementia-friendly design where team members engage meaningfully with the residents, focusing on their unique needs, experiences, and emotional well-being.
Further expansion of the emotion-based care model to Peel Region’s Adult Day Services (ADS) is planned in alignment with our recently launched Seniors Services Strategic Plan.
