Projects 18-1380 and 11-2380 - October 19, 2022 update
Streets affected: Queen Street West and George Street, Brampton
Notice of temporary road closure
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to replace the watermain along Queen Street. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water services.
At this stage in the project, we need to install new watermain pipes through the intersection of Queen Street West and George Street to replace the aging pipes.
Traffic impacts
A temporary road closure will be required to complete this work. The road closure is expected to occur from Friday, October 28, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. until Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. (weather dependent).
- Our works are planned to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to minimize disruption and reduce noise levels. However, these hours may be extended, and overnight work may take place depending on the progress of work and weather. This would be done to ensure the work finishes on time and no further closures take place at this intersection.
- George Street will be closed to all northbound and southbound through and left-turning traffic at Queen Street West.
- On Queen Street West, no left turns will be permitted at George Street. Only right turns and Queen Street West through traffic will be permitted.
- During this time, a detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Please see the attached map for the detour route.
- Residents who live on the street will have access to their homes. Access to businesses will be maintained. There will be no on-street parking for the duration of this work.
This road closure may cause traffic delays. We ask for your patience and will try to minimize any delays.
