Projects 18-1380 and 11-2380 - May 30, 2023 update
The Region of Peel has been working in your neighborhood to replace the watermain along Queen Street West. This work is required to maintain and improve existing water and wastewater services.
At this stage in the project, temporary lane closures and turning restrictions will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
It will be necessary to connect the water services in the eastbound lanes of Queen Street at Mill Street South.
- For this reason:
- It will not be possible to turn onto Mill Street South from Queen Street West.
- It will not be possible to turn onto Queen Street West from Mill Street South.
- A detour route will be clearly marked with road signs. Residents who live on Mill Street South will be able to access their homes from Wellington Street West or Byng Avenue.
- During this time, Queen Street West will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Mill Street South. Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible.
These temporary traffic impacts have been extended until Thursday, June 1, 2023, until 7 p.m. We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.

Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this necessary work. This work will allow us to continue providing you with high quality tap water. If you have any questions, please contact us.
