Project 29-1199 C
Street affected: Bramalea Road
Advance notice and pre-design field investigation
As part of the Flow | South Caledon Program, Peel Region will be installing new watermains along Bramalea Road extending 10 meters north from Mayfield Road, as shown on the attached map.
Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your neighbourhood. As our population grows, we need to build larger watermains to provide you with high-quality water.
Important note
Construction will take place in the municipal right-of-way. This includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road. This work may impact the bottom of your driveway and the area around the sidewalk. We recommend that you delay major landscaping or driveway paving until construction is completed.
Before construction begins
Before we start construction, we will be in your area conducting field investigations along Bramalea Road.
- We will survey your street and use temporary spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations. The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
- We will take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction takes place.
We expect these activities to happen in early Summer 2026.
Consultant working hours
The work will be completed by multiVIEW under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal by-laws.
Traffic impacts
There may be minor traffic disruptions during these activities. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions.
What to expect during construction
Refer to our short video to learn what to expect before, during, and after watermain construction. The video also answers common questions about:
- Why your water may be temporarily shut off.
- How traffic, parking, and waste collection may be affected.
- How driveways, roads, and sod (grass) are repaired.
Keeping you informed
We’re currently in the early planning stages, so we cannot give exact dates. As your town’s future planning activities may change, we may also update our plans to install watermains. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start of construction.
