About the project
The work at Queensgate Boulevard and Landsbridge Street consists of the installation of a new traffic signal system and associated street lighting infrastructure. The project includes the installation of traffic signal poles, signal heads, controller equipment, underground conduits and cabling, vehicle detection systems, and pedestrian facilities. Street lighting works include the installation and/or relocation of street lighting poles, luminaires, power supply infrastructure, and underground wiring. Associated civil works include pole foundations, handwells, pavement restoration, signages, sidewalk restoration, traffic management, utility coordination, testing, and commissioning of the completed systems.
Traffic signals
- Installation of new traffic signal plant, including signal poles, mast arms, signal heads, pedestrian signal heads, and push buttons.
- Installation of traffic signal controller cabinet and electrical service.
- Construction of underground ducts/conduits and installation of signal cables.
- Installation of vehicle detection (loops or video detection).
- Traffic signal timing, testing, commissioning, and activation.
Street lighting
- Installation of new street lighting poles and luminaires.
- Installation of underground street lighting conduits and wiring.
- Connection to the street lighting power supply.
- Relocation or removal of existing street lighting infrastructure, where required.
- Testing and commissioning of the street lighting system.
Civil works
- Construction of concrete pole foundations.
- Sidewalk, curb, and boulevard restoration following underground work.
- Installation of handwells, junction boxes, and maintenance holes as required.
- Pavement restoration associated with trenching and conduit installation.
Traffic management
- Temporary traffic control during construction.
- Protection and maintenance of pedestrian access.
- Temporary relocation or adjustment of existing signs and pavement markings as required.
Utility coordination
- Locates and protection of existing underground and overhead utilities.
- Coordination with hydro, telecommunications, and other utility providers where conflicts exist.
