Construction work in your area
Peel Region will be overseeing the installation of a new sanitary sewer along Airport Road, from north of Countryside Drive to south of Mayfield Road. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet.
This work is required as part of a new development project in the area. Peel Region supports the development of new homes by providing the infrastructure required to properly collect and treat wastewater.
Construction schedule
Construction on Airport Road started at the end of June 2026 and is planned to finish early Fall 2026. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
Construction will be completed by the contractor, Con-Drain for the Developer, Caliber Homes and overseen by Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area. Construction will be completed underground in tunnels and will not require digging trenches. Aboveground activities will mainly be limited to a few fenced areas.
Traffic and parking
One southbound lane and one northbound lane is closed along Airport Road between Countryside Drive and Mayfield Road. Signs have been placed to clearly mark the temporary lane reductions.

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area.
