Project 25-1340A – April 30, 2026 update
Streets affected: Colony Court
Project update
As part of the Flow Central Brampton Program, the new watermain on Colony Court has now been installed. Next, we will bring it into service by transferring the water service pipes from the old watermain to the new one; a water service pipe carries water from the watermain to your business.
The new water service pipe will be installed from the watermain to your water service box, a small, round metal valve located outside on the property line between your business and the road. To complete this work, we will need to dig in the lawn or driveway—impacting an area at least two square meters.
Where possible, your water service pipe will be installed using tunneling equipment. If tunnelling isn’t possible due to ground conditions, the contractor will dig a trench. This trench might cause temporary damage to roads, curbs, sidewalks, boulevards, lawns, and the bottom of driveways. Once new water service pipes are connected to all properties on your street, we’ll begin any necessary repair work.
Construction schedule
We’ll start connecting water service pipes on Colony Court around May 4, 2026, and expect to be finished by May 8, 2026. Once we have connected all properties on Colony Court to the new watermain, we will start repairing driveways, roads, curbs, sidewalks, and sod (grass). All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Sam Rabito Construction Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Interrupting your water supply
We will need to temporarily shut off your water. On the day we connect your water service to the new watermain, your water will be temporarily shut off. We’ll notify you two business days in advance to share the date and time.
If we need to shut off your water due to an emergency, we’ll knock on your door and do everything we can to fix the problem quickly.
Driveway access
We’ll knock on your door if we have to block your driveway for a short time. If a trench blocks your driveway access, the contractor will provide metal road plates. We will work to ensure businesses can be accessed. Contact us if you have any access needs.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
