Project update
Peel Region is investigating future rehabilitation of the watermains in your area.
Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our treatment facility to your neighbourhood/area.
We will be conducting non-intrusive and non-disruptive condition assessments to determine whether the existing watermains are structurally sound or if they need to be rehabilitated/replaced.
During the testing, there will be no interruption to your water supply, and no digging or excavation will be required. The condition assessments use advanced technology that generates subtle vibrations, which are detected by sensors attached to hydrants and valves. The vibrations are so faint that they can only be picked up by specialized equipment and are otherwise undetectable by human senses.
We expect these activities to take place between July 20 and September 30, 2026.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Kenwave Solutions Inc. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Traffic impacts
There may be minor disruptions to traffic. We do not expect to need to reduce traffic lanes during this project for long durations.
