Project 25-1122
Streets affected: Britannia Road East, Atlantic Drive, Netherhart Road and Luke Road
Advance notice
Peel Region will be replacing the watermains in your area within the next two years. This map shows the watermain construction on these streets:
- Britannia Road east of Dixie Road
- Intersection at Atlantic Drive and Britannia Road
- Netherhart Road
- Luke Road, south of Britannia Road
Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area. As pipes age, we need to replace them to provide you with high-quality water.
Peel Region will be installing new watermains in your area within the next 2 years. Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your area. As our population grows, we need to build larger watermains to provide you with high-quality water.
Important note
Construction will take place in the municipal right-of-way and within easements.
- The municipal right-of-way includes the street and the municipal-owned land between the street and the water service box, a small, round, metal valve located outside on the property line between your home or business and the road.
- An easement is where Peel Region has legal access to enter your property to maintain and improve Peel’s infrastructure.
This work may impact the bottom of your driveway and the area around the sidewalk. We recommend that you delay major landscaping or driveway paving until construction is completed.
Before construction begins
Before construction starts:
- We’ll use spray paint or flags on roads, driveways, and lawns to locate underground gas, hydro, and cable.
- We may drill holes in the road or municipal right-of-way to collect soil samples, determine ground conditions, or confirm utility locations.
- We’ll take pictures and videos to help restore the area as close as possible to its former condition, after construction.
We expect these activities to happen between August 2025 and December 2025.
Keeping you informed
We’re currently in the early planning stages, so we cannot give exact dates. As your city’s future planning activities may change, we may also update our plans to replace or install watermains. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start of construction.
