Project 24-2194 - June 10, 2026 update
Streets affected: Humber Station Road (extending from Healey Road to King Street)
Construction work in your area
As part of the Flow | South Caledon Program, Peel Region will be installing a new sanitary trunk sewer along Humber Station Road extending from Healey Road to King Street, as shown on the attached map.
Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to provide you with high quality wastewater services.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to start in Summer 2026 and finish in late Fall 2027. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Ward & Burke Microtunnelling Limited under contract to Peel Region. Aboveground construction activities, including materials deliveries and removals, will generally take place between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area. Construction will be completed underground in tunnels and will not require digging trenches. Aboveground activities will mainly be limited to a few fenced areas.
There may be occasional night work during the specified duration, subject to the Town of Caledon Noise Bylaw.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane. If this is needed, we’ll place signs with directions.
Interrupting your water supply
We may need to temporarily shut off your water.
For residents:
- If we need to shut off your water for several hours, our goal is to let you know 48 hours (2 days) in advance. Sometimes, we must reduce this notice to 24 hours.
- If we need to shut off your water for a short time (less than one hour), we’ll knock on your door.
For businesses:
- If your business needs a continuous water supply, please let us know when and how your business uses water.
If we need to shut off your water due to an emergency, we’ll knock on your door and do everything we can to fix the problem quickly.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work safety zone for more information.
