Project 24-1310 H2 - May 1, 2026 update
Streets affected: Brasilia Circle and Danton Promenade
Project update
Peel Region was replacing the watermain along Danton Promenade. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water.
At this time, we have:
- Replaced watermain on Brasilia Circle and Danton Promenade.
- Connected properties to the new watermain on Brasilia Circle and Danton Promenade.
- Temporarily repaired the driveways, road, curbs, sidewalk and sod (grass) where affected by construction.
Schedule for remaining construction and repair work
Construction was paused due to freezing temperatures. We expect to start again in early May 2026 to complete the following:
Complete the restoration repair work of driveways, road, curbs, sidewalk and sod (grass) where affected by our construction.
We plan to finish in by late May 2026. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events.
All work is warrantied for 2 years from the completion date.
Restoration will begin by fixing curbs and sidewalks, followed by driveway and road paving repairs, and finally sod replacement. This will take approximately 2 weeks.
Please note that repairs may be delayed due to contractor availability or weather conditions.
For example:
- Paving cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 3°C.
- Asphalt is not available in large volumes during the winter. It usually becomes available around mid-May.
- Most sod farms are located north of Peel. They usually have sod available starting in late May. We’ll replace the sod on your property once it is available.
- In summer, we may need to postpone sod replacement due to hot, dry weather.
- We replace sod only until the middle of November, weather permitting, to let the sod grow roots. If we do not repair your lawn by the middle of November, we’ll replace the sod the following spring.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Gio Contracting Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighborhood.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced when we are working on your street.
Waste collection
If you receive Peel waste collection, your garbage, recycling, and organics will be picked up on your regularly scheduled day. It’s the contractor’s responsibility to move these bins from the end of your driveway to a location where waste collection vehicles can pick them up. Please make sure your house number is marked on each bin, so they are returned to the right address.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust from construction work.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about work zone safety.
