Advance notice
Peel Region will be improving various Sewage Pumping Stations located throughout Peel. Wastewater flows downhill through sewer pipes. A sewage pumping station is used in low spots to pump it uphill so it can reach the Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality wastewater services.
Background
Over the next year, Peel Region will upgrade various pumping stations to improve safety and replace aging components. These upgrades will help the system increase wastewater capacity, reduce the risk of sanitary sewer backups or spills, improve operator access for maintenance activities, and keep the wastewater system reliable for the future.
We expect these activities to begin in summer 2026.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
