Construction work in your area
Peel Region will be rehabilitating a culvert along Cataract Road and Charleston Side Road in Caledon. Culverts are underground structures that carry rainwater and melted snow from roadside ditches to local creeks, rivers, and Lake Ontario.
We’ll clean the culvert pipe and place a new resin (plastic) lining inside to extend its life.
Construction schedule
Construction is expected to start Late September 2026 and finish by Early October 2026. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Capital Sewer Services Inc. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Traffic and parking
Cataract Rd Northbound at Charleston Side Road will be reduced to 1 lane. This lane reduction will take place from September 28th until October 5th. During this time, traffic will be directed by police officers or flag persons. The onsite contractor will guide emergency service vehicles and school buses through the work zone.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Visit work zone safety for more information.
