Project 23-1160 – August 17, 2026
Streets affected: The Gore Road and Attmar Drive
Project update
Peel Region has been installing a new sanitary sewer along The Gore Road and Attmar Drive. Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a water resource recovery facility. Wastewater is created when water goes down a drain or toilet. As our population grows, we need to build larger sewers to provide you with high-quality wastewater services.
Attmar Drive trenchless construction (tunneling)
We have started the installation of the sanitary sewer by tunneling for a portion of the work. We have set up compounds (working areas) and construction shafts on Attmar Drive between Attview Crescent and The Gore Road. As the compounds and shafts are now built, we will install the sewer between the shafts by tunneling.
Tunneling between Palleschi Drive and Attview Crescent is now complete. Tunneling between Palleschi Drive and The Gore Road is planned to start in mid to late August 2026.
Attmar Drive opencut construction (excavation)
We will be starting the installation of the sanitary sewer by opencut works (excavation) along Attmar Drive between Ebenezer Road and Attview Crescent in mid to late August 2026.
Construction schedule
Construction is currently underway and expected to finish in January 2027. This date may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by F.C.M. Construction LTD., under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are typically from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighborhood.
Overnight tunneling work is expected to take place near Palleschi Drive and The Gore Road. Under the City of Brampton Noise Bylaw, tunneling work is allowed to take place continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to reduce the impact of our work. This 24/7 work is currently ongoing and expected to finish by November 2026. During this time, we do not anticipate any significant noise. Materials will be delivered and removed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to minimize impacts.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced when we are working on your street.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust from construction work.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
