Project 23-1160 – April 29, 2026 update
Streets affected: Queen Street East, Attmar Drive, The Gore Road
Project update
Peel Region has been installing a new watermain along Queen Street East. We will be starting the installation of a new sanitary sewer along Attmar Drive and The Gore Road. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water and wastewater services.
Attmar Drive trenchless construction (tunneling)
We are starting the installation of the sanitary sewer by tunneling for a portion of the work. We will be setting up compounds (working areas) and construction shafts along on Attmar Drive between Attview Crescent and The Gore Road. Once the compounds and shafts are built, we will install the sewer between the shafts by tunneling.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to start May 11, 2026 and finish in the end of 2026. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events. All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by F.C.M. Construction Ltd under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are typically from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighborhood.
Overnight work is expected to take place near Attmar Drive and Palleschi Drive when tunneling begins. Under the City of Brampton Noise Bylaw, work is allowed to take place overnight (between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.) to reduce the impact of our work. We’ll provide further updates closer to when this is expected to happen.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced when we are working on your street.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust from construction work.
Construction safety
Get Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn how to stay safe in construction zones.
