Project update

We have finished the work. The project is under warranty until November 2026.

Where is the work happening

• On The Gore Road, from Healy Road to King Street in the Town of Caledon.

What are we doing

The work includes:

• The removal and replacement of asphalt pavement.
• The removal or granular shoulder and replacement with asphalt shoulder.
• The removal and replacement of steel beam guide rails.
• Intersection improvements and traffic signal modifications.

When

• Construction Start: August 2024 – Finish: October 2024 (weather permitting).

Working hours

• Four Seasons Site Development Ltd. Has been contracted to complete the work on Peel Region’s behalf. Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
• Work may also be done on Saturdays.
• These hours follow city by-laws. Extended working hours may cause inconvenience but will allow the project to be completed as quickly as possible.

Traffic control

• The project will be phased to minimize traffic disruptions while maintaining a safe working environment as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Existing traffic flows will be maintained during construction. However, due to the nature of the work, we’ll need to reduce traffic to a single lane and temporarily block intersections during construction.
• Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
• Please use caution when travelling through the work zone.

Driveway access

• We will maintain driveway access as much as possible. If we need to temporarily block your driveway, we will contact you to arrange a time.
• We will ensure businesses always have access.

• Peel Region will keep you informed of any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule.
