Project 21-2411 - July 7, 2025 update
Streets affected: Glen Erin Drive, Highway 403, and McCauley Green residential area
Peel Region has been rehabilitating the Sawmill Creek Sanitary Trunk Sewer. The section of sewer to be rehabilitated starts in the Hydro One corridor northwest of the Glen Erin Drive overpass at Highway 403. It runs under the highway and continues northeast, parallel to Highway 403, until it reaches the McCauley Green residential area.
To minimize the overall duration of construction impacts, the City of Mississauga, under Noise Control Bylaw 360-79, has granted an exemption to allow sanitary sewer lining and sewage flow bypass work to proceed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Schedule
This continuous work is expected to occur between July 21, 2025, and August 8, 2025. It is estimated that 5 shifts, each lasting 24 hours, will be required to complete the repairs outside the normal working hours. Due to the technical requirements of the sewer lining process, work must proceed without interruption once started. By working continuously, we can significantly reduce the total time your area is affected by construction.
We understand that extended hours may cause some disruption to your daily routine, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Every effort will be made to minimize noise during overnight hours, including the use of noise-dampening equipment wherever possible.
Noise
We do not expect significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during this time. Efforts will be made to reduce noise impacts on residents.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. When driving, walking, or biking through a construction area, be aware of your surroundings. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays and consider other routes if possible.
