Project 21-2411 - December 23, 2024
Street affected: Sawmill Creek
Peel Region will be working in your neighbourhood to rehabilitate the sanitary sewers along the Sawmill Creek Trail between Folkway Drive and Erin Mills Parkway. This work is necessary to continue providing high quality wastewater services.
Noise bylaw exemption
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Control Bylaw, is allowing sanitary sewer lining and bypass operations work to be carried out by our contractor continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This 24/7 work is expected to begin Monday, January 27, 2025, and be completed by Tuesday, February 18, 2025, weather permitting. Given the continuous process required by sewer lining technology, work must proceed without interruption once initiated. Additionally, continuous sewer lining reduces the amount of time your area is under construction, and the related impacts to the community. We acknowledge that the extended hours of operation may cause some disruption to normal activities. Every effort will be made to minimize noise impacts during overnight hours, including utilizing noise-dampening equipment.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe - pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. The Sawmill Creek Trails will remain closed during this work. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
