Project 21-1951 – Mar. 25, 2025 update
Peel Region will be working in your neighbourhood to take down the Snelgrove Elevated Tank located at 2819 Mayfield Road at the corner of Mayfield Road and Cresthaven Road.
Construction schedule
Construction is planned to begin Spring 2025 and end Fall 2025. These timelines are estimates, as weather and other unexpected events may impact our timelines. Construction and repair work is under warranty for two years from the completion date.
Contractor and working hours
Peel Region has engaged consultant CIMA+ and contractor TriPhase Group to complete this work. TriPhase’s normal working hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday with potential weekend work as needed. These hours are consistent with the local municipality’s bylaws.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You could feel slight vibrations and experience some minor noise and dust immediately adjacent to the exterior construction work.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane during construction. If we must reroute traffic, we will place signs giving directions.
Temporary dog park and park closure
We will have to temporarily close the Chinguacousy Lions Club Water Tower Dog Park and the Chinguacousy Lions Club Water Tower Park which are adjacent to the elevated tank. The timing is still being determined to ensure the impact to residents is minimized. Please visit the project webpage listed in the get the latest project updates for the most up to date information.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. When driving, walking, or biking around the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users. Slow down and account for delays.
