Project 20-2450 A - May 19, 2026 update
Streets affected: Sun Pac Boulevard, Edvac Drive, Humberwest Parkway, Exchange Drive, Goreway Drive, and Auction Lane
Notice of restoration
Peel Region will be repairing driveways, roads, curbs, sidewalks, and sod (grass), following the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer and maintenance holes (commonly called manholes) along Sun Pac Boulevard, Edvac Drive, Humberwest Parkway, Exchange Drive, Goreway Drive, and Auction Lane.
Restoration schedule
Restoration work will start in late May 2026. We plan to complete all work by June 2026 weather permitting.
Restoration will begin with sod and seed replacement, followed by hard surface work including replacement of curbs, sidewalks, driveway crossings and road paving repairs. This will take approximately four weeks.
Please note that repairs may be delayed due to contractor availability or weather conditions.
For example:
- Paving cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 3°C.
- Asphalt is not available in large volumes during the winter. It usually becomes available around mid-May.
- Most sod farms are located north of Peel. They usually have sod available starting in late May. We’ll replace the sod on your property once it is available.
- In summer, we may need to postpone sod replacement due to hot, dry weather.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Capital Sewer Services Inc. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your area.
Traffic and parking
We may need to temporarily close roads or reduce traffic to a single lane. If this is needed, we will place signs giving directions. On-street parking will be reduced when we are working on your street.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
Driveway access and parking
We may block your driveway for a short time to pave the road. We’ll ensure businesses can be accessed when possible. Contact us if you have any access needs.
Replacing grassy areas
The contractor will replace any damaged sod on the boulevard or your front lawn and will take care of it for 30 days. You can help the sod stay healthy by watering it. A longer watering works better than watering more frequently for a shorter time. Early morning watering allows more water to soak in.
Repairing driveways
Asphalt driveways: If we need to cut a section of your driveway, it will be repaired by paving a strip over the impacted area, resulting in minimal seams. Peel cannot replace your entire driveway. If you would like to have the rest of your driveway paved, please contact the contractor, Capital Sewer Services, at 905-266-1500. The contractor will then share contact information for the company hired to do the paving repairs. Please remember this is your choice. If you decide to have your entire driveway repaved, this extra paving work is your responsibility and outside Peel Region jurisdiction.
Repairing roads
We’ll pave the road where it was affected by construction. This work will start around May 25, 2026, weather permitting. We’ll deliver more detailed information closer to the start date.
Warranty on construction repairs
All work is warrantied for two years from the completion date.
It is normal for repaired areas to settle. Let us know if you notice large potholes forming where the driveway, street, or lawn was repaired, and we’ll ensure these are fixed before the warranty period ends. Once the warranty period is over, Peel is no longer responsible for fixing potholes or dead sod in these locations.
