Project 20-2443 - February 2, 2024 update
Streets affected: Old Carriage Road, Queensway West, Confederation Parkway, and Paisley Boulevard West (Mississauga)
Peel Region will be working in your neighbourhood to rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer system and maintenance holes (commonly called manholes). Sanitary sewers are underground pipes that carry wastewater from your home or business to a wastewater treatment plant. Wastewater is created when water is flushed down the toilet, or goes down the drain in your sink, tub, or shower. This work is necessary to continue providing high quality wastewater services.
This construction work will take place on Old Carriage Road, Queensway West, Confederation Parkway, and Paisley Boulevard West as shown on the attached map. To extend the service life of the sewer under these streets, Peel Region’s contractors will clean the existing sewer pipe and place a new resin (plastic) lining within it. The lining work will be completed underground with specialized equipment, and will not require digging trenches in your neighbourhood.
As part of this project, we will also repair or replace aging maintenance holes. This work will ensure the sanitary sewer system can continue to be accessed and maintained. The majority of our work will involve repairing maintenance holes, but there are some maintenance holes that will be partially replaced, which requires digging to complete. For more information about the location of these maintenance holes and how you may be affected, please visit peelregion.ca/pw/construction/miss/202443.asp
Noise bylaw exemption
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing lining work to be carried out by our contractor continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This 24/7 work will be completed in sections along the project limits, and is expected to last three to four weeks in each location. Continuous work is required to complete this lining work, and will reduce the amount of time your area is under construction. During this time, we do not anticipate significant noise. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents by restricting the delivery and removal of materials to the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Construction schedule
Construction has begun and is anticipated to be completed in the middle of 2024. During this time, our crew may be working near your home or business for a few weeks.

Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
