Charleston Sideroad culvert replacements over the Credit River and Caledon Creek.

Where is the work happening

What are we doing

The work includes, but is not limited to:

  • The replacement of two concrete culverts on Charleston Sideroad.
  • The removal of existing asphalt and concrete culverts.
  • Temporary bypass of creek flows.
  • Installation of culvert foundations and precast open footing units
  • Channel reconstruction, and reconstruction of the roadway.

When

  • Construction Start: June 2024 – Finish: June 2025 (Charleston Sideroad over the Credit River) – Weather permitting
  • Construction Start: June 2024 – Finish: October 2025 (Charleston Sideroad over the Caledon Creek) – Weather permitting

Working hours

  • Esposito Bros. Construction Ltd. Has been contracted to complete the work on the Region’s behalf. Hours of operations are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Work may also be done on Saturdays.
  • These hours follow the city’s by-laws. Extended hours may cause inconvenience to the public; however, they will help to complete the project as quickly as possible.

Traffic control

  • The project will be phased to minimize traffic disruption while maintaining a safe working environment as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Traffic flows will be maintained during construction. Traffic lanes may be reduced to a single lane in each direction and intersections may be temporarily blocked due to the nature of the work.
  • Emergency access will always be maintained.
  • Use caution when travelling through the work zone.

Driveway access

  • We will maintain driveway access as much as possible. If we need to temporarily block your driveway, we will contact you to arrange a time.
  • We will ensure businesses always have access.

  • Peel Region will keep you informed of any substantial changes in the project scope or schedule.
