Construction details
This project is for the replacement of one corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culvert on The Gore Road over the Lindsay Creek Tributary and the replacement of one concrete culvert on King Street west of The Gore Road.
These improvements will focus on restoring the structural capacity of the culverts, improve fish habitat with an open footing culvert, and feature an improved design life of 75 years. This culvert replacement work also includes the reconstruction of the roadway. The structures will have a determined structural capacity and can be verified to meet all current codes and regulations.
The construction team may conduct structural assessments on nearby buildings and residential properties where required. Work will be completed within the established noise and vibration limits prescribed by Peel Region and the Town of Caledon. Noise and dust will be regularly monitored.
Peel Region previously completed a Feasibility Study for the two culverts in the Town of Caledon. Key recommendations for both culverts included:
- The correct hydraulic capacity
- Culvert structures are to be replaced, with all safety issues addressed
Construction schedule
Construction began September 2025.
Working hours
Any night work, if required, will be subject to the appropriate permitting procedure.
Traffic control
- Existing traffic flows will be maintained during construction; however, due to the nature of the work, we will need to reduce traffic lanes to a single lane to accommodate both directions during construction.
- In areas where parking is impacted, alternative parking locations will be identified.
Driveway access
We anticipate no impact to any driveway access.
