Project 18-2300 C - January 12, 2024 update
Streets affected: Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive, Mississauga
Peel Region has been working in your neighbourhood to replace the aging sanitary sewer just north of Fair Birch Drive, along the Lornewood Creek water course. This work is required to maintain and improve existing wastewater services.
We are in the final stages of bringing the sanitary sewer into service. This will be followed up by final sewer connections into the existing system. The contractor will not be working over the holidays. The last working day for 2023 will be December 22, 2023. Work will resume January 8th, 2024.
Traffic impacts
Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive Compound
- The compound (fenced area) is removed from the intersection at Fair Birch Drive and Birchview Drive. Line painting will be completed by the end of the week to bring traffic flow at the intersection to original traffic flow conditions.
- A small site trailer will remain on the boulevard on Fair Birch Drive.
- Final sewer connection work will take place at this location in January. This will require temporary lane adjustments, but a compound will not be set up.
Fair Birch Drive Compound (east of Mirada)
- Fair Birch Drive has been reduced to a single lane, east of Mirada Place. Where a single lane is shared with oncoming traffic on Fair Birch Drive, please be sure to yield to oncoming traffic in accordance with the posted road signs. This lane reduction is expected to occur until the end of January.
- We have reduced the compound size as much as possible to use only the space required at this stage in the project.
