Project 18-1357 – December 9, 2025 update
Streets affected: Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road intersection
Temporary traffic impacts
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region has been installing a new watermain along Queen Street West. This work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water.
At this stage, temporary lane reductions and turning restrictions will be required to complete this work.
Traffic impacts
The intersection of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road will have lane reductions and turning restrictions in all directions. Please expect delays and choose alternative routes if possible.
It will be necessary to dig a temporary trench in the southwest corner of the Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road intersection, as shown in the attached map.
For this reason, it will not be possible to:
- Turn left or right from Eastbound Queen Street West onto McLaughlin Road North / McLaughlin Road South.
- Turn left from Westbound Queen Street West onto McLaughlin Road South.
- Turn left from Northbound McLaughlin Road South onto Queen Street West.
- Turn left from Southbound McLaughlin Road North onto Queen Street West.
These traffic restrictions will be required from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 (weather dependent).
During this time, police officers will be on site for the community’s safety.
We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.
Pedestrian impacts
Follow our posted signage for any pedestrian impacts around the intersection.
Transit Impacts
The eastbound bus stop #3824 on Queen Street West will be shifted west, farther from McLaughlin Road.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
