Replacement of retaining walls at various locations in Peel Region
Where is the work happening
- On Dixie Road, North of Courtneypark Drive, City of Mississauga
- On Bovaird Drive East of Bramalea Road, City of Brampton
What are we doing
The work includes:
- The replacement of three gabion retaining walls at Dixie Road, North of Courtneypark Drive with new vegetated reinforced slopes and the replacement of one gabion slope protection with a new vegetated rock buttress.
- The replacement of a modular retaining wall with a new segmental retaining wall with a pedestrian railing, the removal of the existing concrete toe wall with pedestrian barricade, and the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt splash pad, asphalt sidewalk, and concrete sidewalk with a new asphalt multi-use pathway and a concrete splash pad at Bovaird Drive east of Bramalea Road.

- Construction Start: August 2024 – Finish: September 2025 (Dixie Road, North of Courtneypark Drive, City of Mississauga) - Weather permitting
Working hours
- Amazing Construction Limited has been contracted to complete the work on the Region’s behalf. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday and work may also be done on Saturdays.
- These hours follow the city’s by-laws. Extended working hours may cause some inconvenience to the public however will help facilitate completion of the project as quickly as possible.
Traffic control
- The project will be phased to minimize traffic disruption while maintaining a safe working environment as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Existing traffic flows will be maintained during construction. However, due to the nature of the work, we may need to reduce traffic lanes during construction.
- Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- Please take caution when travelling through the work zone.
Driveway access
- We will maintain driveway access as much as possible and if we need to block your driveway for a short time you will be contacted to arrange for the best time.
- We will make sure businesses have access at all times.
