Watermain replacement and improvement

Streets affected: Burnhamthorpe Road East from Central Parkway to Hurontario Street

Peel Region is working in your area to replace the watermain valves along Burnhamthorpe Road East from Central Parkway to Hurontario Street. This work is necessary to continue providing high quality water services.

Noise bylaw exemption

The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing this work to be carried out by our contractor on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. This work will take place on Sunday to minimize the impact of water interruptions to the local businesses and residents. If we need to reschedule this work due to weather or other circumstances, we will let you know the new date and time.

Noise

We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to residents as much as possible.

Traffic impacts

Westbound Burnhamthorpe Road East will be reduced to 1 lane from:

Central Parkway to Robert Speck Parkway and;
Absolute Avenue to Hurontario Street

Please expect delays and choose alternate routes if possible. We apologize for any delays or inconvenience resulting from these traffic impacts.

When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible.
