    Project 15-1138 - February 1, 2024 update

    Watermain replacement and improvement

    Street affected: Heritage Road

Peel Region is working in your area to replace the watermain along Heritage Road from Steeles Avenue to south of Highway 407.

The City of Brampton, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing work to be done by our contractor overnight. This work will take place in order to complete tunneling operations in a timely manner and to allow for continuous work to proceed. This overnight work will occur off the street in our construction compound located in the southwest corner of Heritage Road at the Edgeware Road intersection. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences caused by this work.

    Schedule

This overnight work is scheduled to take place from Monday February 5 to Friday February 23, 2024. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.

    Traffic impacts

There are no anticipated traffic impacts expected as this work is being conducted off the roadway and it will be contained to our construction compound located at Edgeware Road. There will be no night time trucking or deliveries associated with these works.

    Noise

We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts as much as possible.

    Safety during construction

Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. Learn how to stay safe in construction zones.

    Overnight contacts

In the event of an overnight inquiry or an emergency, you can call our Customer Service Centre 24 hours a day at 905-791-7800 x4409. Our contractor can be contacted directly as well at either 647-625-9044 or 647-824-4510.

    Keeping you informed

We will let you know if there are any major changes to the plans.

Receive timely project updates right to your inbox by signing up for e-notices.

Information on this project can also be found on Project 15-1138.
