Project 14-1346 E - November 24, 2023 update
Streets affected: Winston Churchill Boulevard at Unity Drive/Unity Gate
Peel Region is continuing working in your area to replace the watermain along Winston Churchill Blvd.
Some upcoming work will take place over the weekends in the months of December 2023, January 2024, and February 2024, in order to minimize the impact on traffic congestion. This weekend work will occur in the intersection of Winston Churchill Blvd and Unity Drive /Unity Gate. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences caused by this work.
Schedule
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing work to be done by our contractor on weekends from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the following dates:
- Saturdays & Sundays between December 2nd, 2023, and December 10th, 2023
- Saturdays & Sundays between January 13th, 2024, and January 14th, 2024
- Saturdays & Sundays between January 27th, 2024, and February 4th, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Please note additional days may be required due to unpredictable delays, such as poor weather conditions.
Traffic impacts
This work will require temporary partial lane closures in the intersections of Winston Churchill Blvd and Unity Drive for weekend works on the month of December and a full road closure in the intersections of Winston Churchill Blvd and Unity Gate for the weekend works on the months of January and February. Signage will be available for detour route directions.
Noise
We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal weekday construction levels during these operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to local residents as much as possible.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible. Learn how to stay safe in construction zones.
