Project 13-1347H3 - February 9, 2024 update

Streets affected: South Sheridan Way and Kiran Court.

Peel Region will be improving the water system by increasing the water pressure in the pipes within your community. The purpose of this construction work is to maintain, improve and plan for future growth of existing water services as part of Peel’s commitment to providing safe, clean drinking water.

Your water pressure will increase at some point during the day as early as the week of February 20, and you will see a difference in the quantity of water flowing from your taps.

Higher pressure and your plumbing

You are responsible for the water pipes and plumbing fixtures on your property and in your home. If your plumbing was correctly constructed and inspected and is in good condition, you should have no concerns.

If your plumbing is not in good condition, you may notice:

• Banging or noisy water pipes when turning faucets on or off,
• Spitting from the water faucet aerator when water is turned on,
• Leaking faucets or running toilets.

If you have any concerns about your plumbing, we recommend you call a licensed plumber.

You are encouraged to be home on the date of the water service transfer in the event any plumbing issues arise, however, it is not required. A notice will be provided at least 48 hours in advance of the work to confirm the date.

Low-flow fixtures

When you had lower pressure, you may not have been able to use low-flow fixtures. With increased pressure, you will find changing to low-flow toilets, showers, or tap aerators will save both water and money. Learn more about conserving water in your home.

Water interruptions

Your water supply will be interrupted as we switch your water service over. A notice will be provided at least 48 hours in advance of the work.
