Notice of addendum completion - October 3, 2025
Background
Peel Region has completed a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Addendum study for proposed watermain upgrades from Stillmeadow Road to Dixie Road in the City of Mississauga. In 2022, the Region completed a Schedule C Municipal Class EA for the Wastewater Capacity Improvements in Central Mississauga which included the Queensway East Trunk Sewer (QET). Since the completion of the EA, the Region identified the need to increase the resiliency and capacity of the water pressure system in the area (Zone 2) to service future growth and ensure continued alignment with the Region’s long-term plan for providing water service. The Region of Peel has prepared an Addendum to the 2022 Class EA study that includes the following preferred solution for the watermain upgrades:
- Full pipe replacement of the Queensway watermain from Stillmeadow Road to Haines Road and extension of the watermain to Dixie Road.
This work will be completed underground in a tunnel below the Queensway with tunnel access points at various locations which are outlined in the Addendum Report. Construction impacts and traffic management will be limited to the areas of the tunnel access points and will be further reviewed and confirmed during detailed design.
