Kennedy Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Project Schedule C Class Environmental Assessment

Background

Peel is growing, and we want to ensure our community remains a great place to live, work and play. Peel’s Flow | Central Brampton Program is advancing 30+ essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects, faster, throughout Brampton.

The province has committed to building 1.5 million more homes in Ontario over the next decade—with 113,000 in Brampton. These provincial housing targets have significantly increased the demand for water, wastewater and road infrastructure.

Flow | Central Brampton will meet these demands by combining more than 30 water and wastewater projects into one large-scale construction program across Brampton, including the Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study for the Kennedy Road Sanitary Trunk Sewer Project. This Project will help ensure sewage capacity requirements are met by 2051 to support growth in Peel Region. Refer to Figure 1 for Project Study area, including the recommended preferred route.

Process

This study has been following the 2024 process for a Schedule “C” MCEA project, which includes:

Indigenous community engagement and public and stakeholder consultation
Background studies
Development, evaluation, and selection of sewer route options, impact assessment and mitigation measures
Development, evaluation, and selection of the preferred sewer construction methodology, including shaft locations

Public Information Centre #3

We invite you to join us for Public Information Centre #3, where we will present the results of the completed evaluation of construction methods and shaft locations, with opportunities to provide feedback and ask questions.

All materials will be posted online, including a survey open until January 5, 2026.

When: Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre (30 Loafers Lake Lane, Brampton ON L6Z 1X9), Meeting Room 2

Once the study is complete, results will be published in an Environmental Study Report (ESR) and will be made available for public review and comment.

We invite you to attend the Public Information Centre, review the materials posted on the Project website and respond to the survey.
