Project 14-1256A – September 16, 2026 update
Streets affected: Williams Parkway between Dixie Road and McLaughlin Road
Construction work in your area
As part of the Flow | Central Brampton Program, Peel Region is installing a new watermain along Williams Parkway, as shown on the attached map. Watermains are underground pipes that bring tap water from our water treatment facility to your neighbourhood. As our population grows, we need to build larger watermains to provide you with high-quality water.
This notice is provided to properties east of Highway 410, as construction activities will start in your neighbourhood. You will notice two construction compounds in the area:
- One near the Highway 410 Carpool Lot Road parking lot (Shaft 10 on the attached map), and
- The existing compound in Newcastle Park (Shaft 11 on the attached map), previously used by the East Brampton Watermains project (EBWM).
The Williams Parkway Watermain project is a continuation of the EBWM project, as the new watermain will carry water from the EBWM to the West Brampton Pumping Station on Mississauga Road.
Construction schedule
Construction started in late August 2026 and is scheduled to finish in mid-2028. These dates may change due to weather and other unexpected events.
Contractor working hours
The work will be completed by Erritt Construction Ltd. under contract to Peel Region. Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. These hours are consistent with local municipal bylaws and help shorten the amount of time construction is in your neighbourhood. Construction will be completed underground in tunnels and will not require digging trenches. Aboveground activities will mainly be limited to a few fenced areas called compounds.
Traffic and parking
Westbound traffic will continue to be one lane by the construction compound just west of Dixie Road (Shaft 11).
Traffic on Williams Parkway will not be impacted by the compound on Carpool Lot Road (Shaft 10). Please watch for construction vehicles when accessing the carpark.
Parks and walkways
There will be no impact to pedestrian access along the walkways in Newcastle Park or under Williams Parkway, between LaFrance Park and Bramalea Community Park.
Vibrations, noise, and dust
You may experience minor vibrations, noise and dust during construction. However, as the watermain will be installed primarily by tunnelling, surface impacts are expected to be limited.
Tree trimming and removal
As we are using EBWM’s existing compound in Newcastle Park, no additional trees were removed in that area.
As Erritt Construction Ltd. reduced the size of compound 10 (by Highway 410 carpark) from the original design, only half the originally planned number of trees were removed. Tree trimming and removals were carefully reviewed by certified arborists in consultation with the City of Brampton. After construction, trees will be planted based on City direction, including the type, number and location.
Construction safety
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe. Be aware of your surroundings when driving, walking, or biking near the construction area. Watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, and consider other routes. Learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones.
