    • Interim Protocol for Land Securement

    • Establishment of Greenlands Securement Reserve
    • Financed as part of Conservation Authority current Budget
    • Contribution $500,000 from Conservation Reserve and amount of funding be determined through 2006 and subsequent budget processes

    October 2006

    • Greenlands Securement Subcommittee Terms of Reference
    • Greenlands Securement Subcommittee to meet in Camera
    • Contribute $500,000 from 2007 budget

    February 2007

    • Adoption of Greenlands Securement Project Implementation Guidelines

    September 2010

    • Revision to GSSC Terms of Reference bring forth revised Implementation Guidelines
    • Consider $750,000 contribution in 2011 budget

    • Approval of amended Greenlands Securement Program Implementation Guidelines

    • Directed staff to enter into Greenlands Securement Agreements with CVC, TRCA, ORMLT, BTC, Cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and Town of Caledon for up to five year terms
    • Authorized Commissioner of Corporate Services to execute Greenlands Securement Agreements
    • Delegated approval to CAO for funding requests less than or equal to $750,000

    June 2018

    • Amended Greenlands Securement Program Implementation Guidelines approved by Council
    • Authorized a Pilot Project to increase the Regional funding cost share to 70% for a time limited period of 3 years, or until such time the Greenlands Securement Reserve is reduced to $2 million, whichever occurs first, be implemented
    • Authorized Commissioner of Public Works to execute Greenlands Securement Agreements
    • Delegated approval to CAO for funding requests less than or equal to $250,000
    • Authorized that on behalf of Regional Council the Regional Chair write to the respective Federal Ministers of Environment and Climate Change and Natural Resources, and Provincial Ministers of the Environment and Climate Change and Natural Resources and Forestry regarding the current lack of funding by senior levels of government for greenlands securement, and request the reinstatement of federal/provincial funding for greenlands securement to municipalities and conservation authorities while continuing to provide funding for land trusts
    • Circulated the report to Program Partners

    June 2021

    • Authorized that the Greenlands Securement Program pilot project, which increases the Regional funding cost share to 70%, be extended for an additional three years commencing June 28, 2021
    • Waived the current requirement stating that the pilot project be suspended if the Greenlands Securement Reserve is reduced to $2 million for the extended period
    • Authorized that the Regional Chair, on behalf of Regional Council, write to the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the Minister of Natural Resources, as well as the provincial Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to request the reinstatement of adequate federal/provincial funding for greenlands securement to municipalities and conservation authorities while continuing to provide funding for land trusts
