Update: Inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) supply shortage
There is currently a provincial shortage of IPV (Imovax®Polio). Further updates will be shared when supply is replenished.
In the meantime, Tdap-IPV (Adacel®Polio/Boostrix®Polio) can be offered. There are no minimum interval requirements, and extra doses are safe. Tdap-IPV will also boost pertussis protection.
Update: RSV prevention program
End of the 2024/25 infant and high-risk children RSV prevention program
The 2024/25 infant and high-risk children RSV prevention program has ended. Doses of Beyfortus™ and Abrysvo™ should no longer be ordered or administered to infants, children, or pregnant individuals. Details for the new season will be shared closer to the fall, following official announcements from the Ministry of Health.
Please keep any remaining inventory of Beyfortus™ at your clinic for use during the fall 2025/26 respiratory season for eligible populations. Beyfortus™ must be maintained at a temperature between +2°C and +8°C and stored in the original outer carton until administration to protect it from light.
High-Risk older adult RSV vaccine program
The administration of the RSV vaccine under the High-Risk Older Adult RSV Vaccine Program will continue into the spring. Please continue to administer to eligible older adults.

Ontario spring 2025 COVID-19 vaccine campaign
Ontario’s spring COVID-19 vaccine campaign will be from April to June 2025. An additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for previously vaccinated individuals who have completed their primary series and are at increased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection which includes:
- Adults 65 years of age and older:
- those 80 years and older should receive an additional dose of vaccine.
- those 65 to 79 years of age may receive an additional dose of vaccine.
- Adult residents of long-term care homes and other congregate living settings for seniors.
- Individuals 6 months of age and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised (due to an underlying condition or treatment).
- Individuals 55 years and older who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis and their non-Indigenous household members 55 years and older.
Eligible individuals may receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the recommended interval of 6 months from the previous dose or test-confirmed infection (minimum of 3 months).
Individuals not in the increased risk groups are not recommended to get vaccinated and should wait for further recommendations closer to fall 2025.
For doses requested after June 30, healthcare providers should use discretion to determine the benefit of receiving dose(s) at the minimum interval versus receiving dose(s) during the next annual COVID-19 vaccine program (i.e. 2025/26) to ensure optimal protection against the circulating strains.
