Peel Public Health holiday office hours
The general holiday office hours for Peel Public Health are:
- 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on December 27, 30, 31.
- Closed on December 25, 26 and January 1.
A public health nurse, public health inspector and Associate Medical Officer of Health are available on-call outside of regular business hours (after hours, on holidays, and weekends).
Please see information below for public health services and clinics that may differ from the general holiday office hours.
Vaccination services
Clinics
Vaccination clinics will be closed from December 20 to January 5. Services will resume on January 6.
Vaccine year-end ordering by December 16
The Vaccine Order Desk will be closed from December 25 to January 1 (inclusive). To ensure your vaccine orders are processed and ready before the closure, please submit your order by December 16.
- Orders submitted on or before December 16 will be ready for pick-up prior to December 25.
- Orders submitted after December 16 will be available for pick-up starting January 2. Please wait to receive your pick-up notice for specific details.
Holiday closure schedule for vaccine pick-up locations:
- Hurontario (7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga) is closed from December 25 to January 1.
- Brampton (10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton) and Fairview (325 Central Parkway West, Mississauga) locations are closed on December 25-26, and January 1.

Cold chain failure reminders
If your fridge temperature(s) (current, max/min) goes below +2.0˚C or above +8.0˚C:
- Stop using vaccines impacted by the cold chain incident.
- Keep your vaccine refrigerator door closed.
- Leave the vaccines in the fridge. Do not move the vaccines to another fridge without direction from Peel Public Health.
- Place the Cold Chain Failure magnet or a sign stating “Do NOT use vaccines” on the fridge door.
- Continue to monitor and document fridge temperatures in the temperature logbook.
Call 905-799-7700 ext. 2840 or email vmphn@peelregion.ca to report a cold chain incident and leave a message with the following information: date, clinic name, RMP_MS_XXXXX code and contact name and phone number/email address. Public Health Nurses will not be available on December 25-26, and January 1.
Adverse events following immunization
Adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) by completing the form available at: https://www.publichealthontario.ca/en/Health-Topics/Immunization/Vaccine-Safety and faxing to Peel Public Health at 905-565-0426.
Family health call centre
Phone Support for infant feeding, parenting, prenatal, referrals to Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC), and referrals to infant feeding services are open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 27, 30 and January 2, 3. This call centre is closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31 and January 1.
Oral health phone support
Oral health phone support for the Healthy Smiles Ontario program and the Ontario Seniors Dental Care program will be closed from December 25 to January 1 (inclusive). Phone support will resume regular business hours from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on January 2.
Healthy sexuality clinic hours
Fairview Clinic (325 Central Parkway West, Unit 21, Mississauga)
- Open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 23, 30.
- Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 24, 27, 31, and January 2, 3.
- Closed on December 25, 26 and January 1.
Meadowvale Clinic (6975 Meadowvale Town Centre Circle, Unit N03, Mississauga)
- Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 27 and January 3.
- Closed on December 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 and January 1, 2.
Malton Healthy Sexuality Clinic (7205 Goreway Drive, Mississauga, L4T 2T9)
- Closed December 19 to January 7.
- It will reopen on January 8.
Brampton Clinic (10 Peel Centre Drive, Suite A, Suite 101, Brampton)
- Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 24, 27, 30, 31 and January 3.
- Open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on January 2.
- Closed on December 25, 26 and January 1.
Harm reduction program
The mobile van services holiday schedule is as follows:
- December 23, 28: regular hours 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
- December 24, 27, 30, 31: altered hours 12:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- December 25, 26 and January 1 – no mobile van service.
For harm reduction supplies and services, or naloxone, clients can call or text 647-225-1623.
Public health communicable disease reporting and ordering of post exposure prophylaxis (PEP)
Over the holidays, please continue to report all Diseases of Public Health Significance (DOPHS) and submit requests for rabies and hepatitis A PEP.
A public health nurse, public health inspector and Associate Medical Officer of Health are available on-call outside of regular business hours. For urgent matters, contact Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700.
Continue to report diseases of public health significance by calling 905-799-7700. The reportable communicable diseases list includes which diseases must be reported immediately to public health.
