Davinder Valeri, Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services

Davinder Valeri is the Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services at Peel Region, where she oversees Finance along with several key divisions, including Information and Technology, Human Resources, Strategic Communications, Culture and Inclusion, and Climate Change and Energy Management.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, Davinder has held senior roles at Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, KPMG LLP, Ontario Power Generation (OPG), and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL). She brings deep expertise in infrastructure, finance, and sustainability–helping organizations advance their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.

A Chartered Professional Accountant, Davinder holds an Honours Co-op Bachelor of Arts in Chartered Accountancy from the University of Waterloo and a diploma in Executive Leadership from the Schulich School of Business.

She serves on the national board of BCG Canada and is a member of the Research Advisory Board at the Institute of Sustainable Finance at the Smith School of Business. Davinder has been recognized among Canada’s top women in energy transformation by the Pembina Institute and Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), and was named one of Toronto’s Top 25 CFOs by The Top CFOs.
